An Unexpected Morning

A change of plans created an unexpected morning; I had time to relax, explore the city (with camera in hand, of course), and enjoy the beautiful morning light.

I discovered gorgeous colors and textures,

bricks. windows, and metal all joined together in an alleyway,

a shiny new drum set needing a player,

the rich reds of an antique couch through the curtains,

and a seemingly magic doorway.

Being able to take my time and capture the beauty of everyday was a wonderful way to start my morning.

Favorite Photo Friday: Bocce Ball

Recently, I was fortunate to discover a group of old friends playing bocce ball in the park. They have been playing together for years, and truly enjoy the game and each other’s company.

I sat back and enjoyed their friendship and laughter.

Numbers

I recently completed a photo series on numbers; here are some of my favorites from the set.

Numbered seats at the theater,

a race car in an antique store window,

dominoes on the kitchen table,

a find while my mom completed some mending, and the speedometer of an old pick-up truck (including my reflection as well).

Color Reflections

I’m finding myself drawn to the beauty in reflections of color, no matter where my day takes me.

Whether I’m at our local car show,

walking past the motorcycle repair shop,

sitting at the bakery’s metal tables,

enjoying a finger puppet show,

or during a quiet board game at home,

reflections of color keep grabbing my attention; I love what I see!

Favorite Photo Friday: Quiet Morning Redwoods

On this first Favorite Photo Friday, I want to share a photo from this summer: Quiet Morning Redwoods. For me, this image captures the memory of a wonderful vacation, a restful morning, and the magnificence of the Russian River.

Storytelling: Getting a Puppy

The time spent waiting for our puppy to be old enough to come home to us was full of excitement.

We counted the days,

and waited,

and waited. Until, finally, she was home with us!

We had no idea how much we’d love her,

how much joy and laughter (and mischief) she’d bring to our lives,

and how quickly she would become part of our family.

Having our little Honey in our lives is such an incredible gift, for all of us.

Storytelling: Sharing Stories

We all have stories to share.

Some stories share adventure and

history from long ago;

some stories express friendship and love;

some of our stories are being created and coming to life on paper;

some stories are just being captured, to be shared with loved ones.

I wonder which stories from today will be shared, enjoyed, and treasured in the years to come.
